When words fail, music speaks. It has no language, no religion, no boundaries; all it knows is to connect people via its feel. Any musical concert or an orchestra is meant to shoot up the energy of every soul with its beats. Woodrock, a musical concert organised by Kristu Jayanti College on September 18, 2015 evoked a sense of bliss in the students and relive an era of music.
Rev. Fr. Josekutty PD, Principal, Kristu Jayanti College; Dr. Molly Joy, Head, department of Psychology; Rev. Fr. Emmanuel PJ, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology; Prof. Senthil Kumaran, Faculty Coordinator, Cognizance; and Benita Mohan, Student Coordinator; were also present during the occasion.
Woodrock, which was themed ‘70’s Rock’, began its beat during the dusk, to amuse the crowd. This was not just confined to music alone, but also included varieties like, beat-boxing, rapping, guitar instrumental by both intermediate and basic level students. If the participants played their role in entertaining the crowd, the audience complemented with equal energy and enthusiasm throughout the concert. The take away moment of the day was the rap performed by Mr.Joel Joe, a student of BBM. The choir team of the college took their role over singing while the other few for rapping and beat boxing. The basic and intermediate level students performed their guitar instrumentation and their completion n certification was later issued by Rev. Fr. Josekutty PD, Principal, Kristu Jayanti College. Woodrock 2015 imparted a good number of participation which made it a pearl out of the shell in the sea.
